'Death of Spider-Man' is the last chapter in the Ultimate Spider-Man storyline which features the a change in the Ultimate Universe's status quo.Peter Parker goes off against his deadliest foes yet and beats them even wounded which ultimately leads to a heroic death.
The last chapter opens up and it is revealed that Norman Osborn(also known as the Green Goblin) is alive and hold captive at S.H.I.E.L.D. by Carol Danvers who kept him alive to run tests on him.Osborn quickly manages to escape from his cell due being more evolved than last time and kills the agents who are trying to stop him than recruit Electro,Vulture, Kraven the Hunter,Sandman and Dr.Octopus than they escape together now Norman calling them 'Men of God' who are brought a second chance to smite their enemies once and for all.Akward but cool ^^''.
Peter meanwhile reunited with Mary Jane and are having lunch when suddenly Steve Rogers(Capain America in disguise) tells him that they need to speak privately and they head to the cemetery where Cap tells him that he(Spider-Man) is just a 17 years old kid who needs to stop what he is doing or will get himself killed one day.Spidey ignores Cap and swings off only to later witness the massive battle between The Avengers and New Ultimates at the Queensborough Bridge.Peter that receives a phone call from MJ who tells him that Norman Osborn is well and alive and escaped from custody together with other villains.
Norman also witnesses the fight in live TV and tells the others that they need to go there while Octopus objects and tells Norman that his is their chance to take off once and for all to which Norman beasts out(literally) and after a not-that-long fight, he kills Otto.
Same time, Spider-Man sees that the Punisher is trying to shoot Captain America so he jumps in front of his idol and catches a bullet for him.Nick Fury and Captain America are amazed of his bravery and after that they take the Punisher down but the bridge collapses and Spidey wakes up not much later only to find himself alone and heavely bleeding from his found and notice that his so called 'idol' , Captain America and the others took off leaving him there to die.
Later that night, Johnny Storm(Human Torch of the Fantastic Four) and Bobby Drake(Iceman from the X-Men) are now living with Peter, are headed home and ready to enter the house when they notice that Osborn and the four remaining men on his side are looking for Peter.Johnny and Bobby quickly take on the fight with them and for a split second they overpower them by knocking Norman out from the chessboard. Now Electro,Kraven,Vulture and Sandman are the only ones left.Peter arrives quickly and takes Vulture out too while out from nowhere Peter's aunt, Aunt May shoots and kills Electro and Peter deals with Sandman and Kraven as well. She and Peter hug each other only to realise that Norman returned and he is ready to take him down. The ultimate fight begins between the two arch rivals and while Peter is already dying of his wounds Norman claims that that is the 'day of Reckoning' and that God wants Peter to die.Mary Jane arrives on the scene and drives a truck into the Goblin taking him out for a bit while she and Peter embrace and kiss to see themselves still in one piece , Norman wakes up and Peter sick of everything, takes the truck and beats the cr@p out of Norman and finally the truck explodes seemingly killing Norman and sending Peter to his death as well but not before saying goodbye to his aunt, May and Mary Jane.As the others begin grieving his heroic death, Norman can bee seen in the flames whos body reverted back to norman form and his seemingly dead body doesnt move but his lips curve into a smirk leaving the door open that Spider-Man's greatest foe may be alive.
I'm not going to lie, I've been reading Ultimate Spider-Man since 2003 or 2004 and haven't been excited for a chapter like this last one for quite a while now. This comic was with me in everything, good, bad etc. and has a very special place in my heart.Brian Bendis(writer) did a terrific job with this book and the penciles Mark Bagley,Stuart immonen,David Lafuente and Sara Pichelli did also amazing jobs on the book. They all became my favorites.
Thank you for this amazing comic Marvel and Bendis, thank you for being with me in the last 7-8 years. You will be greatly missed.

True Blood Season 4 so far
True Blood really kicks some ass this season.Although not as action packed as before, I have to say this "slower" storytelling really helps the show. Witches, shifters, werewolves, werepanters, vampires, fairies and everythig just puts the whole show and experience on a whole new level.
This season deals with the events of the past and puts the characters into a new spotlight.A year and bit passed since Sookie went missing into fairyland where she only spent a few minutes and upon her return everything went crazy. The world she know no longer exist as she knew. The world entered into a post-Edgington era where vampires aren't liked but neither hated.Bill became the supreme king of Louisiana now taking the title of King Bill and Eric Northman is his right hand man, his scheriff.
That said things go crazy when a group of witches(or necromancers as Bill states) are trying to get control over the dead which would mean they would be able to control vampires as well.Bill sends Eric to stop them but instead the witches erease Eric's memory leaving him compltely tabula rasa. Sookie finds Eric(who bought her house during the one year she was missing so he can "own her") and helps him which makes the two fall in love in each other and ultimately have sex in the forest. King Bill meanwhile wants to get rid of Eric because he can't have Eric "have" Sookie but finally realises that Sookie deserves to be happy and let's Eric go.
The storyline of witches also involves LaFayette and Jesus who are both witches.Werepanter storylne circles around Jason Stackhouse and Crystal while the werevwolves are the usual as last season, Debbie and Alcide.Oh, and Andy Bellfleur is hooked on V.Adict f#ck! xD.
Overall this season is an interesting one.I'd say season 3 was better but than I would be wrong because this one got all season 3 didnt, a slower and more edge hooking storytelling, at least from my point of view.
So far a 8 out of 10.

Fast Five Review
Regardless previous receptions, the Fast & Furious series always gets a comeback and after two disappointing installments(not me, I loved both Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious) the creators decided to throw in a new formula.Picture The Fast & Furious meeting The Fugitive because that's what this franchise was turned into and I will have to say it, It is extremely enjoyable.Vin Diesel & Paul Walker have an undeniablely good chemistry and bringing Dwayne Johnson in just made it whole much lot funnier to watch.
The movie is starting where Fast & Furious ended, Brian and his crew going after Dom to free him and after a successful break out, they go on a mission to stole some cars which would give them enough cash to disappear once and for all.Things don't go smooth(where do they?) and Crime Lord Herman Reyes starts looking out for them(in the bad kinda way) and wants to kill them and if that wouldn't be enough, a new bounty hunter cop joined the hunt/game, U.S. DSS Agent Luke Hobbs. Now both the crime lord and DSS in their a$$es, Dom, Brian and Mia must take what they can get and move out from sight as soon as they can and Dom comes up with an idea that only has two ways to end: they either die or get as rich as hell and be gone after that from the eyes of the world, and that plan is non other than robbing Herman himself, a full cash of 100 $ million dollars but for a job like this they need a damn good team and who else than previous hotshots like Han,Roman Pearce,Tej and other news too like Giselle Harabo,Tego Leo and Rico Santos. The action sequences and awesome WTF moments just make this movie one of the bests this year and summer and also, I can easely say, the best installment of the Fast & Furious franchise.
The scores and soundtrack used in the movie also play a huge part making the enjoyable atmosphere for the movie.Hope Fast Six arrives soon, can't wait for it.

X-Men First Class Review
(From my ComicVine review)
X-Men First Class was a pleasent surprise for me as I expected this movie to turn out as a disappointment judging by previous comments, thoughts and so called "rushed" production. As many before me stated, the movie isn't completely a reboot, but a prequel for previous X-Men movies with sometimes major continuity errors like how did Xavier got paralyzed before being bald as he was walking at the end of "X-Men Origins:Wolverine" and in the beginning of "X-Men 3".If you close your eyes upon these things than you'll find First Class the perfect summer kick in movie.Matthew Vaugn like always did a brilliant job on the movie,my only concern which turned ot half to be true was that they were so many mutants introduced whom weren't properly explored like for example Darwin, who was introduced and killed in no time, I just feel like his character was wasted or another good example is Emma Frost aka the White Queen who was there but had no significant role other than being Sebastion Shaw's b!tch, other than that I have no serious problem infact I loved that Azazel was kept mysterious and not much was revealed about him.Of course the movie was supposed to show where our favorite mutants were before the first X-Men movie, the show was stolen by the undineable chemistry between James McAvoy's Xavier and Michael Fassbender's Erik whom I found the perfect to fit the role of the master of magnetism. He was a great choice to fit into Ian McKellen's place. The movie is set duing the Cuban Missle Crisis, in 1962 but sometimes felt like our characters were in the present day due some scene like for example the strip scene of Angel Salvadore. The surprises cameos were nice as well especially Wolverine's "go f@ckyourself" statement which I found pretty hallorius. The main villains or antagonists of the movie were the Hellfire Club led by the crazy bastard Sebastian Shaw who had the ability to absorb energy with this slowing down his aging also. While he served as the main antagonist of the movie as he was the one to make Erik the bloodthirsty man he was, Azazel,Emma Frost and Riptide were also much significant as well.Xavier and Raven's relationship was something pleasent and unexpected.I loved how the two had this brother-sister/best friends relationship and even after siding with Erik, she was still loyal in some ways to Xavier which also makes me bring up the one major thing that was bugging me, that how the hell was Xavier okay with Erik taking the rest of the Hellfire Club members and Mystique and not even try to stop them.Okay, let's pretend we haven't seen that. The last part of the movie was something we were (and I think we all can agree with this) waiting for, Erik finally becoming Magneto , the true master of magnetism and the true villain of Xavier. He formed his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants starting with Mystique, Azazel,Angel, Raptide and finally ending with the newly freed from prison, Emma Frost.
The movie I think farely deserved a 3.5 out of possible 5, the rest, the 1.5 goes away for the continuity errors and other plotholes which were small but a few of them was significant in one way or another. Can't wait for a sequel.

Smallville SERIES FINALE review
This is it!The series finale, an event of 10 years in making comes to an end.Fans should just lay back on the sofa because even there were lowpoints in the episode, everyone got what wanted( at some point):Superman. Tom Welling put on the suit and saved the day from Darkseid and the coming Apocalypse(and Apokolips, the big bad planet heading toward Earth planning on destroying it.)But that wasn't just all, Michael Rosenbaum returned for one last time to bring back the only true evil and villain without whom Superman wouldn't be Superman : Lex Luthor! In flesh and blood.Turned out Lex used those organic parts from clones which had usefulness and "combined" them to heal himself but one last thing was missing, a heart.Lionel from Earth-2 decided to help his son(from another mothe---- universe) by cutting Tess Mercer's heart out and putting in Lex's body. You got to see the irony in that.Tess of course is a kick ass girl and managed to escape and mortaly wound Lionel who even in his last breath tried to save his son.Darkseid appeared and cut out Lionel's heart and healed Lex than took over Lionel's body and began using him as his vessel on his mission to kill the bringer of the Light, Kal El , Clark Kent.
The highlight of the episode was of course(besides the flying and super-suit)the many guest characters, most notably John Schneider aka Johnathan Kent who whenever speaks, wisdom comes out from his mouth and this time was no different. The wedding of Lois and Clark was back on even after Lois had a cold feet but the party was crashed by a darkness-fully-taken-over Oliver who tried to give Clark a ring with golden kryptonite but Chloe managed to save the day(and Earth also, who knows what would've happened if Clark would've put on that ring.) and after a fierce fight, Oliver was back on track and defeated the unholy trinity of Darkseid. Now only thing they needed was to somehow make the big vulcanic planet above them gone and Darkseid defeated and Clark while preparing for his ultime battle has a nice family reunion with his mother, Martha Kent and the ghost of his father,Jonathan Kent.Of course Lex is was now back and the two faced off at the ruins of the Luthor Mansion.Lex admitted that besides he considers Clark his greates enemy, he believes in him that he can save mankind from it's demise and apocalypse.Clark now went to the barn of his house only to be confronted by a Lionel who is now the vessel of Lord Darkseid.Clark during the battle learns how to fly as he realises that he had the power all along in him only that the past was holding him back and defeated Darksied.Have to say I was a bit dissapointed as I expected a bigger fight, but it was enjoyable either way. Clark went to the fortress and put on the suit and saved Lois who meanwhile was on Air Force One to tell the President about the danger they are facing. The plane was to crash but Clark now Superman saved them and pushed the Apokolips planet out from Earth's orbit. The day was saved.
Of course we still have Lex Luthor who know took over LuthorCorp and renamed it LexCorp than finally killed Tess saying that he is saving her by killing her because than she wouldn't become like him. This is what I like about Lex, he always thinks he is doing the right thing and maybe that's one of the many factors that make his character the most epic and also sympathic villain in the show. But dear old sis had one last chance at redemption and took it by poisoning Lex with an organic black liquid which was in development for years and reveals that this will erease Lex's memory up to that very point. As she lays dying a memory-less Lex realises that he has no idea what is happening around him and looks out to from the window totally confused.
We flash forward to year 2018 where all of our characters have nicely evolved.Clark Kent is the mild-mannered riporter secretly asking Lois to marry him and being Superman when people need him, Lois Lane is a top riporter at the Daily Planet, Chloe is a mother and she is married with Oliver and Lex Luthor is elected as the President of the USA.
The last shot of the show needs no words. It's perfect.Check it out and you'll know what I'm talking about ;)

Supernatural 6x20 The Man Who Would Be King Review
Okay, it's not a secret that I dislike(d) season six but this one...well this episode was extraordinary, it felt like Supernatural for me once again.I followed the show when season four started and after watching it I checked out seasons 1-3 and I absolutely loved it especially season four and five but when season six premiered last september I felt like that something was missing, that something was gone from the show and it didn't felt like it was the show that once I loved.Maybe because Eric Kripke told that he originaly planned the show to last five seasons and they didn't had much time to develope proprely the sixth season and as they went on they came up with interesting ideas, because from where I am, that's what is happening. The start was more than disappointing to me but I didn't give up(although they were times when I asked myself why am I still watching it?!) and I'm glad I sticked because recently it started to feel fresh and new again and considering the fact that it was picked up for a seventh season, I believe the writers now know for sure and 100 % where to go forward with the story.
Talking about story, I'm glad Crowley is back and he wasn't dead.At first I highly disliked his character but now it is considered as a mastermind villain for the Winchester brothers and Castiel is also much more interesting than ever before.Being on his own, a "Superman gone darkside" as Dean stated, we get the whole story on him from the start til' the end.The episode was narrated by Castiel who is sitting in Heaven waiting for God to give him a sign of weather is he on the right path or not.Of course for whatever he is waiting for, it's simply not coming.God may be gone or refuses to respond on Cas' prays. In one word, Cas is lost.Alone. Flashes from season five and few from season four are also present.Ahh, good ol' times. The theme is rivalry and redemption.Rafael is still much more powerful than Castiel and wants him to join his crusade of angels who want to free Michael and Lucifer from the cage so the apocalypse can go on and happen what was written of course our dear old Cas has other visions of the future and plans on stoping Rafael's madness once and for all and this is where Crowley comes into the picture, he offers help Castiel's if he will help him find purgatory and geather souls for an army.Cas agrees and fakes Crowley's death so the Winchesters would be off his trail for good and they can work together again. After stoping the Mother of All, Eve , the Winchester go solo on fiding Crowley and they "outsmoke" Castiel and trap him to confess which he does but with this he looses the friendship of the Winchesters forever.Being again alone he understands that he really is a "superman gone darkside" and the "kryptonite" is in the Winchesters hand.Looooved the bunch of Superman references, this may be a reference for Smallville ending which is kinda cool from the writers.
So Heaven or Hell,Angels or Devils, Castiel is now a tragic hero who only wanted what he thought is best but failed and lost everything, so now it might be a good time for him to proove Sam,Dean and Bobby's that he really is their friend and set things right.
Of course question must be answered because there are a lot of them still and two weeks from now the 2-hour season finale airs.I personally would love to see a fight between Sam,Dean,Castiel and maybe even Balthazar going up against Crowley and an army of demons and even Sam's block on his soul would fade away could give us a suspense finale. The season might have been mostly down for me this past year but if they get the finale right than all is forgiven and we can go back to the way things were and wait season seven with great anticapation.

Fringe 3x22 The Day We Died Review
And so season three came to a conclusion which was a brilliant season with a bit slow ending. The third part of a three episode arc finale showed us a grim future,a man's suffering and a possible solution to save two worlds. The finale picks up where the last episode left, 15 years in the future, more precisely in May 20th, 2026.The world is heading toward the unstopable doomsday and there might be only a tiny hope to save the world after the parallel universe was destroyed.
Joshua Jackson did a brilliant job portraying a heartbroken and lost Peter who killed billions, lost the love of his life and besides the guilt the only thing - or better said man - he can rely on is Walter Bishop who was sentenced to life for starting all this back in 1985.John Noble does an extremely good impression playing two enterily different characters., the heart warming and kind Walter who was released from prison to crack a new technology and help Peter fix the past and the evil mastermind Walternate who before their universe was destroyed, crossed over to get revenge. He hired a terrorist group to rip holes in the fabric of the universe plus murders Olivia with cold blood.
Anna Torv didn't have that much screen time as she used to but that might be a good thing considering the theme of the episode as it revolved around Walternate-Peter-Walter.Broyles also had a wierdo eye -thing which was kinda reminescent to Nick Fury from the Ultimate Marvel Comics.(Talkin' about comic book references huh? This is a plus for the show :D).Of course the recurring theme for the episode was "revenge" and this was the exact thing that showed us viewers whats the real differences between the two Walters.
Walter realises what he has to do to right the wrongs and through a wormhole, sends the doomsday device parts back to the past a few thousand years(indicating that HE was the one from the future who sent the parts to the PAST which they've found in the PRESENT. Looooove when things get this complicated xD ). Peter than also returns to the PRESENT but with the memories from the FUTURE so he can tell them that he's seen doomsday and in order to prevent it the two sides must work together to save both worlds but before he could finish his sentence,he disappears and Walter and Walternate and Olivia and Bolivia form a wierd kind of partnership to prevent the destruction of either worlds.
Outside the Liberty Statue in our universe, the Observer are standing and we learn that Peter "served his purposse" and he never existed from now on, in one world he might have been wiped from history indicating that he may have died as our Peter too, thanks to his illnes.
Now sure many people began speculating that if Peter never existed than Walter wouldn't have crossed over and this whole things would've began in the first place, but I assure them they're wrong, even if Peter still have died in both universes, Walter and Bell would've found a way to cross over because they're scientest, curiosity is THEIR thing. So overall it was an exciting and interesting episode but not as mind blowing at action scene department as I've expected.

Smallville 10x20 Prophecy Review
The pen-ultimate episode of Smallville delivered everything that the series needs before takes flight off from the screen for good. The episode saw the return of Winslow Schott aka Toyman,Granny Goodness and many other who were just featured as cameo but still made the episode interesting like Metallo,Roulette,Dark Archer and even new ones like Grundy,Black Manta and Captain Gold and of course let's not forget Kara Kent portrayed by the beautiful Laura Vandervoort who returned for one last time to the show for a mission to stop Darkseid and she teams up with Oliver Queen for the first time.
The two heroes were undeniable more than just awesome. They worked together to retire the Bow of Orion which is the only weakness Darkseid has but this could be acomplished only if the Light and Dark were in balance and Kara was pure so she had the light in her and due the un-balance she was trapped although Oliver arrived for the Bow too on his own and helped Kara out.Due the corruption, Oliver was infected by the darkness so the balance was maintined and the two opened the portal which led them to the ultimate weapon.Kara in the last minute was summoned by Jor-El so she had to leave, leaving Oliver on his own to get the item, of course this is Smallville, nothing goes smooth and Granny Goodness followed him and finally desrtoyed the weapon than made Oliver Darkseid's minion and ordered him to find Gold Kryptonite which would take away Clark's powers leaving him weakened and open to the darkness' corruption.
Meanwhile, Clark took Lois to the Fortress and showed his father, Jor-El, his desire to start a new life alongside Lois to which daddy responded and gave Lois Clark's ability for a day so she can see what is like to be Clark but this also had an unexpected side effect.Clark was powerless. Being the hero of the day, Lois quickly adjusted and stopped a robbery which was proven to be staged because the burglar was actually a mind controled Courtney Whitmore who was the marionette of Winslow Schott also knows as The Toyman. Lois tracked down the madman only to be controled too and she was sent to kill the Blur although unsuccesful because after sunset, Clark's powers returned and went to face Toyman and finally told him that he is not afraid of him because he knows he(toyman) won't tell the world his secret because than there wouldn't be any other games to play and before leaving he added that no matter what they'll do with his team of villains, he'll always be there to stop them.
After all the madness, Clark went to the Fortress one last time and told Jor-El that he is ready to become the hero he was meant to be and his trials are finally over than said goodbye to Jor-El and shut down the whole Fortress leaving it darkened whith the super suit still frozen.
Kara put on the Legion ring and went to the future so Clark could fight the ultimate villain on his own and embrace his true destiny as Superman, but things went extremely wrong as Lois canceled the wedding and told Clark she won't marry him because she might be his greatness weakness and being with her while he could be saving people would be just selfish which leaves Clark heartbroken.
The episode was overall very well pened ,sure there weren't a lot of fight sequences because it was an emotional episode, just what we need before the 2-hour series finale.

The Vampire Diaries 2x21 The Sun Also Rises Review
The Sacrifice ritual comes to a heartbraking but also horrifying conclusion and more than one character dies. Last week's episode ended on a high note and this week's does the same as well and I can easely say that this episode could've been season finale as well because it lived up to the overall expectations and was packed with everything a casual or hardcore fan of TVD would wait and the season finale is one week away so if this episode was just a set up for next week's ep than the writers are having a very nice ace up in their sleeves.
There were many recurring themes throughout the episode among which is death.Death is a natural part of life but not in TVD.Aunt Jenna, Uncle John, Jules and in some form even Elena dies.Klaus set everything in motion and begins killing first the werewolf Jules than even Elena's aunt, Jenna for the ritual.Stefan offers himself in exchange for Jenna but Klaus has other plans for him and ultimately kills even Elena as he drinks from her until she dies.Of course Boonie,John,Alaric and Jeremy had a back up plan to prevent Elena to come back from the death as a vampire and John "sacrifices" himself to give Elena back her soul. This was a bit of lame from my opinion but the way John died was sad, even for him, while the rest of the group was mourning Elena, he walked out from the mansion and waited his death as he fell to the ground dead.
The other theme was redemption. Damon realised that no matter what, the werewolf bite is fatal and he is hoping for Elena's forgivness before he dies so the season finale will be Damon centered than which is good, because people love Damon.Who doesnt? And even though writers can do some really extreme WTF moments, I really doubt they will kill Damon off, I mean c'mon he is a core character but really looking forward to see how will they cure him.Maybe some whitch magic mambo jumbo which will save him but turn him human?C'mon how cool would THAT be?
Elijah's betrayal was a bit disappointing, we were given an explanation why would he kill his own brother, Klaus but switching sides this fast, turning back on his honor and saving the mad sonofabitch was really wierd but at the same time really cool.Another major WTF moment and sets up the next season, season three which is promised to be a season of The Originals.
Matt-Caroline-Tyler triangle is still interesting.Everytime I'm watching these three I can't help it but think that one day a sparkle will blow and the two alpha male will just jump to each other's throat and beat up themselves. Caroline finally realised that Matt knew all the time about her true nature and that her mother is trying to kill her because she hates vampires so Matt leaves too saying that he can't come to the terms that she's a vampire and he wants a normals life while Tyler on the other hand understands her perfectly and would happily be with her.
Overall it was an outstanding episode. An episode I *really* waited from such a mindblowing show that TVD is.

Fringe 3x21 The Last Sam Weiss review
The second part of the three episode arc season finale continues.Last week we got a peek of what's coming and now things are set in motion. The doomsday device was activated from over there and the fringe team must race against time to stop the upcoming destruction or everything they knew will be forever lost as both universes may be gone.Peter wakes up from the coma and goes to Liberty Island to find his father, the secretary, Walternate but realises that he's confused.Meanwhile Olivia and Sam Weiss are searching for a key while "natural" diseasters happen which are causing a rift between the two parallel worlds so in order to stop the doomsday scenario, Walter and Astrid with the help of Broyles plan to move their device to liberty island where on the other side they keep their machine so the damage would be only collateral.
Sam Weiss and Olivia find the "key" which opens a box what was kept hidden by Sam Weiss and his ancestors, the other Sam Weiss' and find a drawing similar to the one which depicted Peter in the doomsday device only this time it's Olivia on it.Walter imideately realises that Peter and Olivia must "synchronize" their brainwaves in order to deactivate the machine in both sides and let Peter enter.Things go according to plan and Peter enters the machine wich goes online and Peter passes out. When he wakes up he's in New York City where the war torn apart everything and stands in front of the completed One World Trade Center and looks at a stone where it writes "We Will Never Forget September 11, 2011, Dedicated to Their Memory September 11, 2021" and realises that he is 10 years in the future.
The last scene was kinda reminescent to the comic "X-Men Days of Future Past" but it didn't matter because if last week's episode was awesome than this was something else...It was mind-blowingly awesome with an epic cliffhanger in the end.Next week the season finale airs. Can't wait and luckily for us fans, the show is coming back for a 4th season this fall.

Smallville 10x19 Dominion Review
The Spartacus styled episode did not disappoint and it was good to see Callum Blue as Zod again. He was one of the best villains on the show and he was really missed. This Zod is really a bit different from his earlier incarnations. As we find out, General Zod (who was last seen in season 6 when he took over Lex's body) made a deal with Darkseid who helped him gain dominion over the Phantom Zone and gave him a little extra by letting him merge with Major Zod (season 9 villain) into one entity who was his younger self/clone, whatever in exchange to lure Clark into the kryptonian prison and kill him.
Tess informs Clark that General Slade escaped from the Phantom Zone and that someone is releasing the phantoms, so Clark rushes to Watchtower in order to enter the kryptonian prison and stop the madness plus Oliver returns after being absent for a few weeks(last seen in 10x15) so the two bff enter the zone but things dont go as planned and they're captured by zoners who take them to their new leader, the tyran Zod!(KNEEL) ;))
It is actually quite interesting to move forward with the Oliver-being-infected-by -the-darkness storyline and in one major moment of the episode the two friends face off. Of course this is 'smallville' so things end well (sometimes) and Clark and Oliver escape the hell prison and Zod and his two followers are blocked and the two heroes return to Earth. It's a bit shame because they've been in the zone for a few hours but 'outside'
it was three weeks.
So Oliver now has his own demons to face because he's been marked as a minion of Darkseid starting with the loss of his parents and the murder of ex Luthor. There may be no escape even for him from this one. The next week's episode is the last ep until the 2-hour series finale.

Five things "Smallville" Finale needs
01 Suit & Flight
...and by this I mean not have only 30 seconds in the end where Clark puts on the suit and flies away, but at least in the second part of the finale have him wear it, ultimately it is the last episode of the show at least they can pay off fans that much who followed it for 10 years.
02 Superman Vs Lex Vs Darkseid
...and by any means an epic fight between Superman and Lex and/or Darksied 'Smallville' has a pretty good habbit of not having massive and epic showdowns(except for last season's finale). Before the show leaves the big screens forever fans need to see the long awaited showdown between Clark and Lex.I'm not mentioning Darkseid because I'm not eniterly sure he will go fist-to-fist with Clark.
03 Old characters to share a scene together at least for one last time.
...we know Martha,Chloe and Jonathan returns for the finale. We also know that Jonathan died so besides him it would be nice to see a great scene between Clark,Lois,Tess,Oliver,Chloe and Martha, maybe have Jonathan's spirit present, so we could see them in a scene together.
04 Clark's and Lois' Wedding
...Clark prupossed to Lois back in the episode 'Icarus' but we didn't actually seen the wedding. It would be awesome to have them have their wedding at the begninnig of the finale which would be interrupted by Lex or Darkseid and after defeating them have the wedding "finished" at the very end.Me personally would love the last scene to be between Clark and Lois than have Clark put on the suit only at the very end and fly away.
05 Have Lex kill someone close to Clark
...ultimately he is Clark's ultimate opponent so it would be just right to have him kill someone close to Clark (maybe Chloe or Tess) which would have an impact on Clark's life and fans could really agree that the "real" Lex is back.Maybe have him even kill his own father, Lionel again.Twice...whatever. xD
This is how would I picture the two part series finale of the show.
Fringe 3x19 LSD review
Whoever had the idea to make this episode was pure genius.LSD,cartoon, action, drama all in all, everything. But I still have one advise, don't try this at home haha.
Humor played a large part in the episode and was kinda reminescent to last year's "Brown Betty". Bell "comes up with the idea to transfer his essence to a hard drive to save Olivia so Peter,Bell/Olivia and Walter take some high dose of LSD and enter Olivia's mind only to run in some problems.Olivia and Bell is nowhere to be found and when they finally reach the North side of the Twin Towers they realize everything is cartoon including them. This part of the episode was higly amusing.Loved it, seriously. Also Broyles getting high was a kind of "relaxation" for his character and was fun to watch.I mean I can't even begin describing the laugh I had watching him.
So they finally find Bell only to be tracked down by some zombies who try to kill them but thanks to Peter's rescue plan, they take the zeppelin which was miraculously on the top of the tower and they head to Jacksonville but the fuel was wasted thanks to an intruder who cut it off and damaged the zeppelin which lead to the "death" of Walter's who dying , woke up from the trans and so only Bell and Peter were left now. They finally arrived to Jacksonville where Peter thought that Olivia was and began searching for a house which had red door.Peter and Bell find the house and Peter realises that the Olivia waiting for him there is not the actual one but a "fake one" projected by the real one to test Peter's feelings.(This part from IMO didn't "belong" to this episode")Things got worse when Olivia's stepdad arrived and tried to kill them and managed to get rid of Peter who also returned to reality so now it was up to Bell save Olivia which he did by sacrificing himself. Olivia later drawn the exact same man who attacked Peter,Walter and Bell on the zeppelin and replied to Peter that that man may be the one who will kill her.
Overall it was an enjoyable episode with some lack in drama but served pretty well as a much more "brighter" episode considering the fact that the last episodes left will be much more darker.

Smallville 10x17 Kent Review
Clark Luthor is back and he is not alone.Clark once again visits the parallel earth(or Earth-2 as they call it) only to run into a very pissed of Jonathan Kent.
Watching Tom Welling play the evil and dark Clark Luthor gives you a feeling that they are really played by two seperate actors who look the same. When he plays Clark Kent, he's good and...superman-y, but when he takes on Clark Luthor than we're talking about bussines, he's just awesome.
As the third quarter of the final season takes flight we're getting closer and closer to see Clark(Kent!) finally embrace his destiny and become the hero he meant to be.So the countdown for the 2-hour finale began with this episode and before the show takes off forever from the big screen we will see some new and some old faces. This week we saw John Schneider to play a very different Jonathan Kent we used to(but he will be back in the finale), than next week we will see the smallville version of Blue Bettle and Booster Gold(Boo$ter xD) and of course in the pre-final two episodes(lol that came out interesting) Kara Kent(^.^) and General Zod.And in the finale Martha Kent,Johnathan Kent,Chloe Sullivan,Lionel Luthor and...Rosenbaum aka Lex Luthor, the one and only.Seriously.
The episode was a hit as the show returned from the 6 week hiatus and as first many thought that the episode will be a filter I assure you they were wrong. The face off between Clark and Jonathan really had an impact on Clark upon returning to his world.Sure, Jonathan Kent stepped to the light in the other world thanks to Clark, but will Clark Luthor find redemption? The answer is yes, we finally get to see a showdown betwen the two opposite Clarks and at the end of the day it is really proved that no matter how evil CL was he still has the heart of a hero and can choose the right path.Of course as they say, things always get worse before they get better and the case is the same here.CL arrives to CK's world and sends him back to Earth-2 so he can take over this earth and rule it but first he needs to have Tess by his side to help him track down and kill Lionel. Tess confesses CL that he turned her back on the so called Luthor Legacy and won't help him kill their father to which CL get's a bit angry and tries to kill her, but CK returns(thanks to Emil and Lois' help) and saves her.CL and CK have a showdown at the fortress where CK tells his doppleganger that he saw that he hesitated when he tried to kill Tess to which CL seemingly realises that he has been on the wrong side this whole time and chooses to return to his world where he calls out for Jor-El who greets his son and finds redemption for his past actions.
John Schneider also was fun to watch and see him play a very different version of his character. This Jonathan had a harder life.He lost everything when the meteor shower occured and his wife,Martha left him too, Oliver Queen bought his farm but turned his back on him and decided not to let him have a chance to buy it back. When CK arrives to this earth to Oliver Queen's funeral, so does Jonathan who splits on Oliver's grave and blames him and Ultraman(CL's identiy which is not so secret anymore as he is the most wanted man alive) for taking everything from him but in the end it is proved that ultimately he is not so different from his other version and finally listens to CK and visits Martha because as he said "Home is not the place, but the people who live in it".
It's been long since I gave an episode on either show this high score but this one really deserves it.And it's what we expect from the last episodes of a decade long show.

The Vampire Diaries 2x18 The Last Dance review AKA Badass Alaric on the move
Matt Davis really takes his acting in a whole new level. It is fun to watch him in action and freshing to see him play someone "else" besides the good ol' vampire hunter, Alaric Saltzman who is also Elena's history teacher(in disguise?!Can I say that? ).
The episode also featured a 60's party which was really interesting and fun to watch.Everyone was dressed in classic suits, not to mention Damon's dancing and lines xD.
It also wasn't low on twists neither.Having believed that Boonie actually died facing Alaric/Klaus was a great deception to prepare for the final showdown, also having Elena take out the dagger from Elijah's body to ressurect him was something I didn't see coming.Hope they form some kind of partnership to take down the most bad ass vampire of all times.
What can I say?I loved this episode and dying to see the next one,but there's still a week for that.Meanwhile I'll finish reading The Vampire Diaries The Return:Nightfall and start the next one.

Charismagic # 1 - review
I just feel like Aspen Comics became a big favorite of mine.I just love their style of writing and drawing. They're such a cool group.I've haven't been a regular reader of their comics, but some of my friends pick up some issues and they fil me in on what's going on but now with Charismagic on sales I decided to read it and I will say it honestly, It didn't disappoint me, actually quite the opposite, after reading the last page of the first issue as well, I was amazed, I was like "Oh my God, why I haven't been paying more atention to Aspen Comics?".
The first issue was(as in all comics) a major issue because sets things in motion and shows us readers the direction the comic will take.I love that the comic holds mystery, magic and mystery as the main "source".The plot is promising as well.If you're a fan of thirller, mystery and any genre of that I encourage you to pick it up without hesitation.
The amazing first issue was written by Vince Hernandez and penciled by Khary Randolph.
So as I said before, this mini-series if probably the most exciting new comic this year from my point of view.Any more advice?Just the same as before, pick it up!

FEAR ITSELF : BOOK ONE - review
The first chapter of this year's MARVEL EVENT arrived and it's something amazing.Marvel promised us an event even bigger than Civil War was back in 2006-07 which would change the status quo of the mainstream and they make a promising start where all hell break loose. The writer is non other than one of my favorites, Matt Fraction and the penciler , Stuart Immonen.
The issue begins in Broxton, where a riot errupts in the middle of a conference, because the citizens do not want to help Stark rebuild Asgard and make a home for the Gods.Riots were not all scary considering the fact that Sin found an old base which once belonged to Adolf Hitler and was secured by Nazis over the decades and which hold a powerful weapon which could cause unimaginable destruction if it would be released. This weapon is non other than the hammer that fell to the Earth during the second World War.Sin approaches the artifact and before touches reveals to her men that he had a vision which depicted her as the Queen of the World and Captain America dead at her feet, seconds later after taking the weapon she is transformed into Khadi, the Goddess of Fear.
Also another major conflict depicted in this issue is the struggle between Thor and his fatther, the All-Father, Odin.Odin is disappointed in his son because Thor consideres himself as a human and choose to defy the Asgardians to which Odin reponds in a battle and Thor is taken back to their world in chains. The Gods left the heroes and now they are in their own to face Fear itself.
It would be an interesting concept to see heroes and villains team-up against this threat that is older than the whole universe and more dangerous than any of them. And if things didn't get any worse, than the father of Khadi summoned the Worthy which is not revealed what to be, but seven meteortes fell to Earth and clashed into the Pacific Ocean,Brazil,China and Manhattan.
The first issue as I said before was off to a good start. It wasn't slow but neither fast, it was just right. The storytelling was just perfect thanks to Immonen's illustrations.Immonen really get's better and better whith every comic he does. There was no wasted page or panel in this issue, now everything is set to motion and whats next for our heroes is something non of them faced before.

Limitless Review
Eddie Morra(Bradley Cooper) |
Eddie Morra is a typewriter in New York City who has the ultimate writer's block and can't write down a single word for his book and besides that he lives in a shitty apartment plus his girlfriend, Lindy also dumped him. Eddie one day (maybe?!) accidentaly encounters Vernon, the brother of his ex-wife Mellisa and gives him a new drug, called NZT-48 and tells him to try it out which Eddie does and much to his amazement improves his focus and intelligence.Eddie finishes his book in four days and starting with that, his life takes a drastic turn, he is capable of using the 100 % of his brain, learns foreign languages withing hours and numbers become useful to him.
For me, this movie was one of the most anticipated movies of 2011 and I wasn't disappointed. The movie delivers the viewer action, drama, fun and everything you expect from such a movie. The plot is amazingly awesome with some interesting but sometimes unnecessary twist but overall a must see movie.
Bradley Cooper does a terrific job portraying such a rich character as well as De Niro too, my only complaintment is that he didn't have much screentime plus the end of the movie was a bit rushed, at least from my point of view. The tracks featured in the movie are something spectacular as well.
The movie lived up to the overall expectations and can't wait for it to come out on DVD to buy it, also I ordered the book which was originally titled "The Dark Fields" written by Irish writer Alan Glynn. If you have the opportunity don't hesitate to read it.

Amazing Spider-Man : Big Time -Enter Phil Urich
Just finished recently the 'Amazing Spider-Man' stories called 'Big Time' which pretty much to my surprise, was a really enjoyable storyline.Written by big spidey fan Dan Slott, and penciled by amazing artst, Humnerto Ramos. the story focuses on Peter's 'new' life.He get's hired to be a scientist, pretty much what he wanted to become his whole life, he get's together finally with Carlie Cooper and everything goes fine until the Kingpin hires the Hobgoblin to stole something for him but this Hobgoblin is killed by non other than Ben Urich's nephew, Phil Urich, who becomes the 'new' Hobgoblin and also the hitman for hire of the Kingpin of Crime. His motivations at first are unclear however as the story developes, it becomes clearer and clearer that all he wants is to get his hands on Norah Winters, kill Spider-Man plus become rich as hell.
'One More Day' was the finish line for me as a regular Spidey reader but sure I pick up in time to time the interesting stuff such as American Son,Shed,Grim Hunt,O.M.I.T., Origins of the Species and now Big Time. Dan Slott makes a perfect read, I think I'll be back reading it.
P.S. take a look at Spidey's new suit designed specially to use it against the Goblin. What can I say?Sweet :D

The Amazing Spider-Man will not be a reboot
According to Executive Producer Avi Arad, the upcoming 'The Amazing Spider-Man'(which is due to hit theaters July 2012) won't 'entirely be a reboot' of the franchise. The film which features new cast, director and even "webshooters" won't erease what came before but instead will be a sort of 'side story'.He said the following
"It’s not a comeback. You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn’t see in movies 1, 2, and 3.”
Even though some events are "altered" by having Peter have mechanical webshooters instead of organical ones( like in the previous films) and having the Lizard as a villain I think it still can be an enjoyable movie, but know hearing that it won't restart the franchise at all, I have even higher hopes for it.Also rumors say that besides the Lizard we will have another minor-villain in the movie, the Proto-Goblin ; have to be honest, I never heard of him before and I'm a big comic book fan myself so I'm curious how will this play out.
The movie will star Andrew Garfield(The Social Network) as Peter Parker ; Emma Stone(Easy A) as Gwen Stacy ; Rhys Ifans as Dr.Curt Connors/The Lizard ; Marty Sheen and Sally Field as Ben & May Parker and Irrfan Khan as Van Atter/Proto-Goblin.
My thought?Well I have some hope for the movie, well much more now that knowing that the movie will take place within the framework of previous ones so we can still call the emo Peter ( xD ) and other interesting stuff cannon but still bugs me for some reason that Mary Jane isn't in the movie.I mean producers said that the film will take place during Peter's High School Years.I'm also curious to see how the Lizard will look like onscreen and with special effects and to know more about this Proto-Goblin dude.I think that the movie won't present again the "spider bit me and I became Spidey" part but will open with Peter already being Spider-Man and will have a side story as mentioned before. Peter attends the same school with Gwen where Dr.Curt Connors is their teacher and after a failed experiment to restore his missing arm, he transforms into the Lizard causing havok in the city so Spidey must stop him. Also I'm interested to know if Harry Osborn will be in the movie or not.If yes, than maybe he will ally himself with Van Atter and test firstly on him the goblin serum to see what will happen and if it works than that would be the reason he takes the serum himself too in the Spider-Man 3 movie. And to make things a bit more 'twisty' and interesting maybe that's why the studio decided to use mechanical webshooters instead of the old organical one.
The movie will hit theaters July 3, 2012.

Fringe 3x18 Bloodline Review
I think many of you have already heard the great news , that Fringe was renewed by The FOX for a fourth and full(22 episodes) season, which is cool not only because we will have another year of excitment , but because we will have a proper follow up after season 3's ending. The producers said that they wrote and filmed the finale as a season finale and not a series finale and that they would have been shocked if the show would have got cancel.
This episode was the last to air until April 15th when the show will resume to air the last four episodes from this season.
This episode was an "over there" episode which are big favorites of mine. The last other side centered episode "Immortality" had many twists including the revelation that Bolivia is pregnant with Peter's baby. This episode we find out that if she will keep the child than she could die due to "viral propagated eclampsia" although she wanted to keep the child.Things went crazy after a group of mysterious people kidnapped her and experimented on her, than accelerated the "process" by having her have the child within hours instead of nine months with this surviving.
The episode also featured several revelations, Lincoln confessed his feelings for Bolivia and turned out that the real kidnapper was ultimately Walternate.
Despite lacking on some intense moments, the episode was a real blast and surprises but like I said, it lacked the well known WTF moments we used to get.

Breakout Kings 1x03 The Bag Man Review
Just to set the record straight, I haven't been watching this show up until heard that Nick Santora and the crew behind Prison Break is making this show.First when I heard of it just thought that it may be a Prison Break rip off but gladly I was wrong. The show takes place in the PB universe which is a great concept from my point of view since I was(and am) of the original Prison Break and it was great to see Robert Knepper return to portray(even if it's for the last time) the psychopatic Theodor'T-Bag'Bagwell.He managed to escape for the third time from a prison.Once with Michael Scofield as being part of the Fox River Eight than second time from Sona and now once again. His motives were unclear at first but it was fun to keep the audience guessing. We knew that he didn't go after Susan Hollanders but who was the mystery woman he was after? Not telling the audience this maintained the suspense of the episode.
The cast of the show is very rich and fabolous.Sure the only one I knew was Serinda Swan who portrayed Zatanna in Smallville(which is another of my all time favorites). The rest of the crew like I said is amazing, especially that hallorious 'nerd' type guy, Lloyd Lowery.Of course the show is far from Prison Break, it has many lacks as errors and even from one episode I could observe that some characters may not evolve beyond at some point. Some cases or even things were resolved with a simple phone call and they were some primitive moves as well but overall I think the series has potential.I may stick to this episode only and wait for the DVD to come out than watch the whole season and see what I think.(Kinda ironic because I'm not reading what Critics say but I write my own reveiwes so xD)

Stefan's Diaries
Thought I would do a review after a finished the Vampire Diaries : Stefan's Diaries trilogy but there is still plenty of time until Craving comes out so after finishing Origins and Bloodlust , I decided to write a review.
The first thing you need to know is that the book is a tie-in to the CW's show but there are also some differences but not big ones.Tie-ins usually can be a pain in ass if they miss something or rewrite various events however Stefan's Diaries doesn't "do" any of that, as said it manages to stay true to the show. The only complain I have at this part is the way Lexi and Stefan meet in New Orleans instead back in Mystic Falls like it was on the show but I think the book version is more suitable.
The first book presents from Stefan's point of view(as the title suggests as well) the events during 1864 while he still was human.Stefan being in the center all the time does not mean that other well known or familiar characters are in the background like Damon Salvatore,Johnathan Gilbert,Katherine Pierce etc, as for a matter of fact, Katherine is very much indeed an organic part of the first book as he is the main reason Stefan's life changes in the first place.Stefan describes Katherine as an angel who turns out to be the exact opposite of everything he ever believed she is.Katherine had a dark secret that would have endangered pretty much everyones life if it came to daylight which it did at the end of the book. She is a vampire together with almost half of the locals from the town.Stefan and Damon both fell in love with her but she toyed with them eventually leading up both from drinking her blood and turning them into the same creatures she was after she was captured by Giuseppe Salvatore. The brothers have joined forces to help their love but they will soon shot and killed which started the process of turning them.Stefan eventually gave into his hunger and confronted his father which lead up of killing him and drinking his blood.Origins is a really good start for those who haven't watched the show before but read the previous L.J Smith series and also a good starting point for new readers as well.
RAZOR rating : 8 (out of 10)
The second book was much more darker than the first one.Stefan and Damon now both vampires , are heading towards New Orleans. The context is also interesting.Damon being the "good" brother who tries to stay innocent while Stefan is actually much worse than Damon will ever become. He kills whom he wants whenever he wants not paying attention that his actions can have serious consequences.Arriving to New Orleans, Damon get's sick of his brother's way of behaving and murdering and they split ways.Stefan finally meets Lexi with whom he'll become best friends, and her crew who will help Stefan conquer his hunger and redeem himself.Damon meanwhile get's caught by a circus group who use him in cage fights to make money out of it.Stefan plans to rescue him because against all of their differences at the end of the day they're still brothers, they're still family. What he doesn't count is that he falls in love with the daughter of the man who kidnapped Damon.Choosing between Damon and Callie Gallagher is decision he is not sure of.If he saves Damon than what is the guarantee that he will not kill everyone because he saw how he changed in that place. Eventually Callie reveals to Stefan that he knows that Damon is his brother and he is a vampire as well but despite that he helps him free Damon who repays her by killing her and beating up Stefan pretty bad by making a promise that he will turn Stefan's life a leaving hell and avenging all those murders he commited. What he doesn't realise that he became the very same creature he sworn to destroy.
RAZOR rating: 9.5 (out of 10)
The third book will be the closing chapter of Stefan's Diaries which will hit stores this May.

Heroes 3x06 Dying of the Light Review
"I know what it feels like, now...all this power...I'm the most special!"
I know,I know it's in the past but either way 'Heroes' is over so I decided to "tribute" it with doing a review from one of my favorite episodes of the show.It is from Volume 3 "Villains" which I think was the point in the series' life when it lost all of it's logic :D I know I'm not alone who loves shows like this where you just have to sit and watch and eat meanwhile and drink and do wathever you want because either way you'll eventually loose the plot line.
ADAM: I guess you have some sort of special ability. KNOX:I get stronger with peoples fear ADAM:Oh, I'm not afraid |
Bassicaly this was the exit episode of David Anders who was brought back only to get killed off in order to rise up from the ground a greater villain, papa Petrelli.IMO there could've been a dozen other ways to have Arthur rise to it's "might" than to write off such a fan favorite character like Adam Monroe was.The storyline moved forward thanks to this episode. After a strong premiere came several weak episodes(such as 3x02,3x03) so the season or volume really needed to set things up and show us viewers were the story heads.
PETER:You're too weak to stop me! |
Okay, so after Peter having Sylar back at Level 5, he heads down(or up?!) to Pinehearst to take down the whole gang of villains all by himself only to have the shocking revelation that his father whom he thought dead for almost a year(18 months to be exact) was well and alive.Peter's entrance was something memorable. Giving daddy a hug was not such a wise move as he lost all of his abilities(WRITERS: Okay we need to come up with something pronto because we don't have enough money to invest into making Peter so badass xD hehe I'm evil...no a 'billain'.).
I don't know, is it ironic? "Dying of the light" they should've called it instead "Dying of Heroes?!".I'm not complaining here overall as I've said before it's one of my fave episodes just that besides being a geek I'm very realisitc at some points(currently 'Fringe' is my favorite show but I'm rating realist and I know the show is in some very deep water).
HIRO:Mr.African Isaac? |
Overall the episode was as I've said several times, one of my personal favorites(besides season one's "unexpected","Five Years Gone" and season two's "powerless").
I think I'll rate it with a fair 7 out of 10(geek rating xD c'mon give a guy a break).

Heroes - a wasted opportunity?
Last few days I was watching the re-run of season 3 of 'Heroes' on the TV and suddently pmped in my mind. Did 'Heroes' been a wasted opportunity?Could have things gone better if the WGA strike wouldn't have happened?Or the show has been doomed with Season 2?Or it's just that the writers didn't plan beyond Season 1? In this post I'll try to analyze every aspect of it.
The first season was a massive success around the globe.Sure it was risky as that time it was the most expensive show of the NBC to film. The pilot had two version from which one was presented during the may of 2006 and the second one at the San Diego Comic Con same year.Seeing the big fanbase the show gained within a few months, the channel decided to pick up the show for a 23 episode season. The pilot debuted on september 25, 2006 but was avaiable one week earlier for free on iTunes. The premiere have drawn 14 million viewers becoming one of the most watched premieres in the history of NBC.
The story followed the life of ordinary people who struggle with their newly explored special abilities. Some of them considers it a gift while some think it's a curse. The main protagonists of the first season were a house nurse, Peter Petrelli who had the ability to mimic other people's powers, his brother, the congrassman Nathan Petrelli who could fly, his ilegitimite daughter, Claire Bennet aka the indistructible cheerleader who could heal from any wound, the junkie painter Isaac Mendez who could paint the future, a geek office worker from Japan, Hiro Nakamura who had the ability to bend space and time(stop time, travel in time), a troubled mom Niki Sanders who had identity issue and was as strong as Hulk,a detective and traffic controler named Matt Parkman who could read other people's mind and hear their inner most intimate thoughts, Peter's and Nathan's mysterious mom who can dream the future and finally a sociopath serial killer who's idenity is only revealed throu halfway of the season called Sylar and kills in order to get others powers.
As in any other drama shows, the main plot of the season is revealed in the first episdoe as the heroes try to prevent a bomb that would wipe out New York City and 0.7 % of the World's population. As the story unfolds, mysteries are revealed and more questions are given, the characters storyline beautifuly comes together for one massive showdown at Kirby Plaza against Sylar. Some think that this is where the show began going downhil as we didn't get the epic finale the season deserved. We saw Peter,Niki and Hiro kicking Sylar's sorry ass in no time and eventually Peter exploded while the fate of a few characters were left in air: Matt,DL and Nathan's faith were unknown.Isaac was written out as his character died at the hands of Sylar.
The second season came along and was planned as a 24 episode long season consisting two volumes called 'Generations' and 'Exodus' althou the WGA strike cut the season to only 11 episodes. The last episode of the season was rewritten to be more of a season finale than fall finale and 'Exodus' was cancelled.'Villains' which was supposed to be volume 4 moved to volume 3 which eventually became the first part of the 3rd season. The second season's main problem was the lack of action, story and logics. It was also refered as 'the lackluster' season by IGN.com and as much as I hate to say , they're right at some point.Hiro's adventure to feudal Japan felt damn streched as he was struggling with the same nonsense for nearly 7 episodes, Peter's amnesia was also streched and his vision of the future should've occured in the first episodes instead of the 7th episode. The Shanti Virus story came pretty late and served as a 'need to wrap things up'.The characters of Maya and Alejandro weren't presented proprely and that could be one of the reasons the viewer could not connect with them.Sylar's storyline was unsure because the writer's didn't know what to do with him. Zachary Quinto who portrayed Sylar took a role in the new 'Stark Trek' movie so his character was to be writen out by the half of the second season but thanks to the strike production shut down for a couple of weeks which allowed Zach to complete his scene in the movie and return to 'Heroes' and with that writers gave Sylar back his abilities. The main mystery of the 2nd season was the mysterious killer who began killing former Company founders one by one and the mystery of the lost paints of Isaac Mendez.A series of paintings. The murderer was revealed to be Adam Monroe(portrayed by amazing actor David Anders) who was Hiro's dream knight Takezo Kensei in feudal Japan who also had the ability to heal which allowed him to live on forever, so after a long lacking season the show went on hiatus with the episode 'Powerless' and was considered the perfect ending of a 'lackluster'season and critics and fans hoped that the nine month pause would help the writers build up a more consistent and stronger season three which would help people 'forget' about the errors of season 3.Althou they had to redesign the whole 3rd season because 'Exodus' was cancelled.
Season Three premiered on 22nd of September, 2008 and had a 2-hour premiere.'Villains' also had it's major errors. There were some really intense nonsenses.First why the heck did Peter take Sylar's ability if eventually ended up not using it?How the hell did a total solar eclipse occur twice in one year? Why they needed to write Adam out,I'm sure they could've found a way to bring papa Petrelli up to it's might without killing a 400 years old man so easely.Than there was the twist of Sylar being a Petrelli boy than eventually revealed to be NOT.I personally enjoyed that twist.Love when shows take such a drastic turns.Big scary villains escaped but were useless eventualy.Hiro becoming a 10 years old kid and so on and so on.Volume three came to a conclusion with some disappointments and the writers realised that they needed to change something because they were loosing viewers like hell. They planned up volume four 'Fugitives' and told us that the show will get back to it's roots from that on.They tied up almost all loose ends from previous seasons amd decided to start fresh.
'Fugitives' started with Senator Nathan Petrelli revealing the existentce of evolved humans to the President of the USA and requesting permission to hunt them down and lock them away because that can be dangerous. This volume than gain some viewers but eventually lost as well.Danko was the main baddie for the first half of the volume as Sylar didn't cause much problem while he was looking for his dad but than after that he returned and with the ability of shapeshifting really shifted up our heroes' lifes.Killed Nathan but mama Petrelli and Matt made Sylar to belive he was Nathan(talking about twist huh?Wait for season 4).So the story got really out of control in one words.IMO I think the main problem was that while the first season was all about the characters and their dilemmas, problems etc. the other seasons focused more on the powers.Nathan and HRG shiftig sides from minute to minute was also lacking in logics and becoming used and boring after a while. Mohinder and Ando now having abilities meant that the characters lost from their charm which they possesed during the first two seasons. They were the only normal humans(thank god Mr.Muggles still remained the same over the course of the seasons :P).
Season four was announced as a 19(18 because the 2-hour premiere was counted as one) episode season and gain the title 'Redemption' which left many fans, previous viewers and critics skeptic about it but believe it or not the show really redeemed itself in some ways.(well no one and I mean NO ONE expected the show to regain it's 1st season glory). They introduced us some really awesome villains: Samuel Sullivan,Lydia and Edgar who were al part of a nomad carnival who try to lure our heroes in to join them. While there were some nonsense as well in this season too, they at least wrap up the loose ends from last season.Main problem I could point out are the characters who just dissappeared or appeared from to the nowhere during the run of the season.Sylar becoming the main villain than the good guy was something that was used in season 3 before but failed to deliver quality althou here looks like worked.Sylar had I think personally, the most interesting storyline this season. Not going to write every ascept down as I explained everything before in my 'Heroes Season 4 Review' post. The intentions of Samuel's evilness was still unclear as the season came to an end.Was he trying to revenge his brother whom he killed?Whas he trying to impress his girlfriend? Was he feeling betrayed?Remains unclear.Hiro recovering miraculosly from his brain tumor was the only thing that really bothered me this season.I mean REALLY bothered me.But this is Heroes where no one dies really. Nathan exploded but returned,Nathan was shot but returned, Nathan was killed by Sylar but returned as a brainwashed Sylar.Hiro had his brain tumor but returned.Charlie died but returned thanks to Hiro's selfish(?!) actions.
Overall the show had some great moments but it became clear that the producers though the show will fail after one season so they didn't planned ahead and when season two's time came they had no idea what to do. The writer's strike blow their plans and with season three they were out of ideas. That's what I think happened and ruined Heroes.Poor show deserved so much more.Last year, on may 14th, 2010 when Heroes cancellation was announced many fans remained heartbroken. It was replaced by 'The Cape' which premiered on Heroes' time slot, Monday 9/8 C on January 2011.The show failed even worse than Heroes because it aired only 9 episodes and the last episode aired only online.I think people would've enjoyed a 5th season of Heroes much more than 'The Cape'.
